How to use the site! ----- Date Posted - 2009-07-16

Welcome to UrCast.tv

This will introduce you to the site features and allow you to get the most out of the site during your stay. This site is a little different than others as we focus on the station not just random video clips uploaded by users. It is perfect for a user that wants a video blog or to setup a digital entertainment station like the ones already up and broadcasting. There are five simple steps to get started.

  1. Register
  2. Create a "Station"
  3. Upload your videos or grab your YouTube videos.
  4. Edit your videos
  5. Create your "User Page"

1) To register simply click login and then register. Once registered please login.

2) To create a station click "Create Station" under the "Station Menu". Fill out the form and add your station picture. It is recommended that the picture be 320x240 in size. If you do not have a picture you can use one of these--> click here for standard station photos.

3.Now that you have a station you need to fill it with videos. Under the "Video Menu" select "Upload My Vids" or "Grab YouTube Vids". When uploading your videos please be sure your video filename is one word with no spaces. To add your favorite YouTube videos use the Grab YouTube Vids menu item and fill out the form. You must have the YouTube Video URL . This is listed on the YouTube page the video plays on.

4) Now that you have finished adding videos you will need to edit the new videos. Select "Update New Vids" and you will see all the new videos you uploaded or grabbed from YouTube. Select the option to either Edit Video or On/Off to enable the video. All videos are disabled until you enable them. Once you enable them they will be considered in production and will no longer be shown on the Update New Vids page. You can also edit the videos and set the play priority. If you do not set the seq priority the videos will play in the order you uploaded them in. You can change the description or title and other information during the edit process. Once this is complete go to the "Preview Room" under the "Station Menu" and preview your station. If you like everything then go to "Update Station" under the "Station Menu" then select your station. You will then need to "Enable" your station for public viewing.

5) The last step is to setup your user page. Go to the "User Menu" and select "Create My Page". You can upload pics in your gallery and add info about yourself.

Take some time and get familier with the blog system as this is where you can create some cool entries using our special web editor. This tool allows you to create some stunning blog entries embedding multimedia and pictures. Great for video blogging. Take some time to get familier with the blog editor as it has some great features for blog creation. All blog entries are shown on your user page.

There are many other small features we have added to the site such as autodetection of video clip durations, clip pic capture, vid sequencing and much more. This page is very helpful. At first glance the site seems difficult but after reading this it all makes sense and is quite complex. Almost like a TV production studio.

Great work.. Who developed this site?
